An exciting temporary opportunity has become available for a Site Technician/Caretaker to support a number of primary schools across the Chippenham and Tetbury area.
The successful candidate will become part of the wider site and estates support function, travelling between schools to help with everyday maintenance, repairs and site requirements. The role is particularly suited to someone who is practical, adaptable and enjoys having a different working environment from day to day.
The position is available immediately and will run until December 2026, providing temporary cover during this period.
What the Role Involves
You'll help keep each school site safe, functional and welcoming, undertaking a range of practical duties such as:

General building and site maintenance

Minor repairs and DIY

Basic plumbing and decorating

Site security and routine checks

Grounds and outdoor area maintenance

Setting up and moving equipment when required

Responding to reactive maintenance issues

Providing additional support across the schools when needed
You'll be given a van and the necessary tools to travel between the different school sites and carry out the role effectively.
The Ideal Candidate
The schools are looking for someone who is:

Practical and hands-on

Reliable and punctual

Comfortable travelling between different locations

Able to prioritise tasks independently

Confident carrying out general maintenance

Professional when working around children and school staff
Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities or maintenance position would be useful, but the key requirement is a willingness to get stuck in and keep things running smoothly.
