A secondary school in Chester is seeking a reliable and organised Science Technician to support its science department on a full-time basis. You’ll work alongside the teaching team to prepare practical lessons, maintain equipment and make sure laboratories are ready for use throughout the school day.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and organise equipment and materials for Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons.
- Set up practical experiments and demonstrations.
- Clear away and maintain equipment following lessons.
- Keep laboratories and preparation areas clean, safe and well organised.
- Monitor stock and assist with ordering resources.
- Support teachers with practical activities where needed.
- Follow COSHH and all relevant health and safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Science Technician, ideally within a secondary school.
- Good understanding of laboratory equipment and practical science.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and COSHH.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise tasks and work independently.
- Practical, dependable and confident working as part of a science department.
- Experience with GCSE practical work would be beneficial.
