You will teach general Science at Key Stage 3 before delivering Chemistry at GCSE level. The curriculum will cover areas such as atomic structure, the periodic table, bonding, chemical reactions, quantitative chemistry, energy changes and chemical analysis.
Practical investigations will help students connect scientific theory with experimental evidence. You will teach students to work safely, record results accurately and evaluate the reliability of their findings.
You will also prepare students for GCSE assessments by developing their understanding of scientific terminology, calculations and examination questions. Regular assessment will allow you to identify misconceptions and provide targeted support.
