About the Role

The successful candidate will support the school's finance department by assisting with a wide range of financial administration duties, ensuring that financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with school policies and financial regulations.

Working closely with the Finance Officer and School Business Manager, you will process invoices and purchase orders, reconcile accounts, maintain financial records, assist with budget administration, and support month-end and year-end finance procedures. You will also liaise with suppliers and colleagues across the school to ensure the smooth running of financial operations.

This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent numerical ability, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and supplier payments

  • Maintain accurate financial records and databases

  • Reconcile financial transactions and assist with account monitoring

  • Support budget tracking and financial reporting

  • Assist with month-end and year-end finance processes

  • Liaise with suppliers and resolve invoice queries

  • Support audit preparation and financial compliance

  • Ensure all financial information is handled confidentially and accurately

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or administrative role

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience working within a school or educational environment

  • Knowledge of finance systems such as FMS, PS Financials, Access, or similar software

  • AAT qualification or willingness to work towards one

  • Experience supporting audits, budgeting, or financial reporting
