A well-established Secondary School in Carlisle is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of its school site on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and practical professional who enjoys leading a team while ensuring that a busy school environment remains safe, secure and well maintained.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the school's buildings, grounds and facilities, ensuring students and staff benefit from an outstanding learning environment every day. Working closely with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will manage all aspects of premises operations, including planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, contractor management and statutory compliance. You will oversee the premises team, coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure all health and safety regulations are fully met.
You will also manage external contractors, oversee servicing programmes, monitor maintenance budgets and ensure the school is fully prepared for examinations, open evenings, performances, sporting events and community lettings. You will identify opportunities to improve the site through ongoing maintenance and long-term development projects while ensuring excellent standards are maintained across the school.
The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, strong organisational abilities and previous experience managing premises within a school or similar environment.
