Spanish Teaching Role in a Grammar School
A high-achieving grammar school in Cambridge is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to join its successful Modern Foreign Languages department from September. This is a full-time role within an academically ambitious and supportive school that values languages, global awareness, and exceptional teaching.
Spanish is a highly regarded subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop fluency, confidence, and cultural understanding through a broad and engaging curriculum.
About the Role
You will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons that inspire students and promote excellent progress.
Students will develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while studying grammar, translation, literature, and cultural themes linked to the Spanish-speaking world.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations, supporting them in achieving excellent outcomes and progression to higher education.
You may also have the opportunity to contribute to wider MFL enrichment opportunities, including language clubs, trips, and cultural events.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging speaking, listening, reading, and writing lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support language enrichment and cultural opportunities
Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and achievement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Spanish
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach an additional language
Experience working in a grammar or high-achieving school
Ability to contribute to language enrichment opportunities
