The Role – What You’ll Do:
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Business lessons at KS4–KS5, aligned to the latest specifications and best teaching practice.
- Use assessment for learning, constructive feedback, and data-informed strategies to support student progress.
- Enrich the curriculum through Young Enterprise projects, entrepreneurship clubs, guest lectures, workplace visits, and competitions.
- Collaborate on schemes of work, resources, and exam preparation, including mock exams and revision workshops.
- Maintain a positive and purposeful classroom culture with high expectations for behaviour, effort, and outcomes.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including form tutoring, trips, open evenings, and Sixth Form events.
Person Specification:
- Essential:
- Degree in Business or a closely related field.
- QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) with successful experience at KS4 and/or KS5.
- Strong subject knowledge across marketing, finance, operations, strategy, and external influences.
- Evidence of impactful teaching, excellent communication, and effective behaviour management.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and pupil wellbeing.
- Desirable:
- Experience with AQA or Edexcel at GCSE/A-Level.
- Evidence of raising attainment in examination cohorts.
- Experience leading enterprise or enrichment activities such as Young Enterprise or DECA-style competitions.
- Willingness to support university and careers guidance for Business pathways.
- (Optional) Ability to contribute to Economics teaching is an advantage but not essential.
