Cover Supervisor – Secondary Academies Across Buckingham (Immediate & Flexible Start)

Role Overview

As a Cover Supervisor in Buckingham, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuous learning during teacher absences. You will step into pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, taking charge of classrooms, maintaining a disciplined environment, and ensuring pupils complete the work assigned by absent department staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise pre-set lessons across diverse secondary subjects (STEM, Humanities, Arts, Languages) in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

• Create a safe, purposeful, and structured learning environment in every classroom

• Enforce each school's behavior policy consistently, managing classroom dynamics calmly and authoritatively

• Distribute learning materials, explain set instructions clearly, and support pupils with set tasks

• Complete electronic attendance registers accurately at the start of every period

• Collect completed student work and leave clear handover notes for the returning class teacher

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualification OR strong secondary classroom/youth leadership experience (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach, Tutor)
