The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 2 class and deliver high-quality teaching across the National Curriculum. You will plan engaging, structured, and creative lessons that build confidence in literacy and numeracy while encouraging independence and curiosity. High expectations for behaviour, achievement, and presentation are central to this role, alongside a nurturing and inclusive approach to learning.

You will use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify next steps, and ensure all pupils are supported and challenged appropriately. Differentiation will be key, particularly to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, EAL, or those requiring additional intervention. You will also support pupils as they complete statutory assessments, ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared.

Collaboration is highly valued within the school. You will work closely with Key Stage 1 colleagues, support staff, and leadership to ensure consistency and progression across the phase. Strong communication with parents and carers will also be an important aspect of the role.

  • Promote high standards of behaviour and learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and professionals
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school
The successful candidate will have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
