Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering high-quality EYFS lessons and continuous provision
  • Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting children’s communication, language, and early literacy development
  • Delivering phonics, early reading, mark-making, and early mathematics
  • Observing, assessing, and tracking children’s progress using EYFS assessment frameworks
  • Differentiating learning to meet individual needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues
  • Building strong relationships with parents and carers
  • Promoting positive behaviour and independence
  • Supporting indoor and outdoor learning experiences
  • Upholding safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within an EYFS setting (Nursery or Reception)
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • A nurturing, patient, and child-centred approach
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A reflective and proactive attitude

The following would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Experience working in a diverse school community
  • Experience supporting children with SEND or speech and language needs
  • Early Years or phonics leadership interest
