We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and motivated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a Key Stage 1 practitioner who is passionate about supporting pupils as they consolidate their learning and prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering high-quality teaching across the National Curriculum. You will plan engaging, well-sequenced lessons that develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum skills while supporting their social, emotional, and personal development. Establishing a structured yet nurturing classroom environment will be central to your role. You will use assessment effectively to track progress, identify next steps, and implement targeted interventions where required. Differentiation will ensure all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, or additional learning needs, are supported to achieve their full potential.
Collaboration is essential. You will work closely with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues to ensure consistency and high-quality support across the year group. Building strong relationships with parents and carers is highly valued, helping them engage positively with their child’s learning journey. This position is suitable for Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners. ECTs will benefit from a structured induction and mentoring programme, while experienced teachers will have opportunities to contribute to school-wide initiatives and share expertise.
