Our academy operates as an ambitious, forward-thinking secondary school and sixth form college dedicated to high academic standards, mental health advocacy, and cultivating an inclusive, inquisitive student culture. The campus features modern humanities faculties, dedicated post-16 study zones, and a collaborative, research-informed staff community. Our behaviour management framework is built upon clear expectations, consistent routines, and restorative practices, maintaining a calm, highly purposeful learning environment that allows students to safely engage in debates, ethical critiques, and independent social science investigations.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS

  • Advanced Social Science Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-quality psychology lessons across GCSE and A-Level pathways, embedding core principles of cognitive, developmental, biological, and social psychology into structured, engaging lectures.

  • GCSE & A-Level Performance Tracking: Guide examination cohorts systematically through the demands of linear terminal papers (including exam boards such as AQA or OCR), meticulously tracking progress data to maximize essay-writing proficiency and high-grade boundary retention.

  • Closing Academic Attainment Gaps: Identify and target learning barriers, deploying structured essay-writing frameworks, specialized vocabulary decoding, and targeted interventions to accelerate progress for all students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND).

  • Pastoral & Mental Health Mentorship: Fulfil full form tutor and academic mentor responsibilities within an established sixth form framework, managing daily registration, supporting student wellbeing, and maintaining proactive, collaborative communication with families.

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Psychology or a closely related social science discipline from a reputable university.

  • Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver top-tier progress metrics and exceptional performance in terminal public A-Level and GCSE examinations through explicit, high-impact social science pedagogy.

  • Analytical & Empathetic Mindset: An unwavering commitment to comprehensive education, demonstrating the academic depth required to challenge high-achieving behavioural scientists alongside the empathy required to support students of all learning abilities.
