Role Overview
As a specialist Science Supply Teacher, you will step into pre-planned Chemistry, Biology, and Physics lessons across various secondary settings in Bristol. Bristol schools particularly value subject-specialist supply educators who can confidently explain scientific concepts, guide quantitative problem-solving, and ensure strict health and safety adherence in practical and theoretical laboratory environments.
This role offers total flexibility: work anywhere from 1 to 5 days per week with zero lesson planning, marking, or parents' evening commitments.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-set Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined & Triple Science)

Assist pupils with theoretical tasks, chemical calculations, multi-step physics equations, and biological diagrams

Enforce strict laboratory safety protocols in accordance with CLEAPSS guidelines and individual school policies

Manage classroom behavior using each schoolβs behavior policy to maintain a safe, focused environment

Complete electronic registers accurately at the start of each period

Leave structured written feedback and handover notes for returning departmental staff

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK equivalent (ECTs, Experienced Teachers, and FE-qualified practitioners with strong secondary experience welcome)
