We are currently seeking a committed, friendly and hands-on Caretaker to join a thriving and welcoming primary school in Bristol. This full-time, permanent role begins January 2026, offering the opportunity to support a vibrant school community where staff and families value a warm and well-maintained environment.

About the Role
- Opening and securing the school buildings and grounds
- Completing minor repairs, maintenance, cleaning and DIY tasks
- Ensuring play areas and external spaces are safe, tidy and well maintained
- Monitoring heating, lighting, alarms and building systems
- Conducting daily health & safety checks across the school site
- Setting up halls, classrooms and equipment for lessons and events
- Liaising with contractors and assisting with planned works
- Supporting staff and leadership with operational needs
You will be a visible and friendly presence on site, interacting daily with staff, parents and pupils.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous caretaking or maintenance experience desirable
- Good practical and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, approachable and community-minded
- Understanding of safeguarding and H&S requirements
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
Salary
Paid according to local support staff scale.
