Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join a large secondary school in Bristol. This is a full-time role starting ASAP/April 2026, supporting the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the school site.

The successful Caretaker will be responsible for day-to-day site maintenance, security, and health and safety checks, working closely with the Site Manager to ensure the school environment remains safe and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Opening and closing the school site
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and DIY
  • Monitoring alarms, CCTV, and site security
  • Conducting health and safety and fire safety checks
  • Supporting contractors and overseeing works on site
  • Maintaining outdoor areas, pathways, and playgrounds
  • Assisting with room setups for exams and school events
Experience and Qualifications
  • Previous caretaking or facilities experience desirable
  • Practical maintenance and DIY skills
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures
