Our client is seeking an ambitious and resilient Attendance & Welfare Officer to manage daily register monitoring and persistent absence interventions across the school. Working out of a heavily resourced pastoral hub, you will act as a crucial link between pupils, parents, heads of year, and external education welfare officers (EWOs).

Key responsibilities include carrying out morning registration checks, conducting daily home contacts for unexplained absences, organizing targeted early intervention meetings with parents, and maintaining meticulous attendance data on school databases (such as SIMS or Arbor). You will also conduct home visits where necessary, design bespoke attendance reward frameworks, and prepare legally compliant documentation for statutory local authority panels regarding persistent truanting.

  • Strong understanding of local authority attendance protocols, statutory safeguarding frameworks, and child protection guidelines
