About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Brentwood from January. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants to work in a purposeful learning environment and help pupils develop the scientific knowledge, practical skills and confidence required for success.
The successful applicant will teach Science across KS3 and KS4, delivering lessons that make challenging topics accessible while maintaining high academic expectations. Depending on departmental needs and the candidate's specialism, teaching responsibilities may include Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The school is looking for someone who can combine strong subject knowledge with effective classroom practice. Lessons should encourage pupils to ask questions, explain scientific processes and apply what they have learned to practical and theoretical problems. The ability to use demonstrations, experiments, structured discussion and carefully planned tasks will be important in maintaining engagement.
You will also contribute to the preparation of GCSE students by identifying learning gaps, providing regular feedback and delivering focused revision activities. Assessment information should be used to adapt teaching and ensure that pupils who need additional support receive appropriate guidance, while more confident learners are challenged to extend their understanding.
The role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute to curriculum planning and support wider initiatives aimed at improving attainment. The school welcomes applicants who are reflective, reliable and keen to develop their teaching practice.
