Are you a passionate Mathematics Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Essex? Our client is seeking a dedicated practitioner to join a successful secondary school in Brentwood from January. This role would suit a teacher who enjoys helping young people develop confidence in Mathematics and understands the importance of making lessons accessible, challenging and relevant to everyday life.
The successful applicant will teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, delivering well-planned lessons that develop students' numerical fluency, mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. You will help pupils build a secure understanding of key concepts, from algebra and geometry to statistics, ratio and number, while preparing older students for their GCSE examinations.
The department is looking for a teacher who can adapt lessons to meet a broad range of learning needs. You should be confident in using assessment information to identify misconceptions, plan targeted interventions and provide constructive feedback. Maintaining a positive classroom environment will be essential, alongside encouraging students to persevere when faced with challenging mathematical problems.
You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues who share resources, discuss effective teaching methods and support students in reaching ambitious academic targets. Experience and Qualifications
- Mathematics Teacher able to teach across KS3 and KS4.
- QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly.
- Experience differentiating lessons for students of different abilities.
- Effective classroom management and assessment skills.
- A commitment to improving student progress and examination outcomes.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
