Science Teacher Role

The successful candidate will teach Science across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop a secure understanding of scientific principles while preparing GCSE students for their examinations. You will deliver lessons across the core areas of Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and will be expected to have sufficient subject knowledge to teach the secondary Science curriculum confidently. At KS4, the timetable may include Combined Science and/or a specialist Science discipline depending on your experience.

Practical work will form an important part of the role. You will encourage students to investigate scientific questions, collect evidence and evaluate their findings. Lessons should provide students with opportunities to develop both theoretical understanding and practical scientific skills.

The successful teacher will also be responsible for assessment and progress monitoring. You will use questioning, classwork and formal assessments to identify gaps in understanding and adapt your teaching accordingly. You will work closely with other members of the Science department to plan lessons, share resources and maintain consistency across different year groups. The school is looking for someone who is positive, reliable and genuinely interested in helping students become more confident in Science.
