A large, dynamic secondary academy in Bradford is seeking an experienced, strategic Premises Manager to oversee site facilities, health and safety, and estate development projects for an immediate (ASAP) start.

The Premises Manager holds full operational responsibility for the estate management of a multi-building secondary academy campus. You will manage the site team (Caretakers, Groundskeeping, Cleaning staff), oversee facilities budgets, manage external contractor SLAs, and ensure complete statutory compliance across health and safety legislation. This is an essential operational leadership post.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, line manage, and schedule the daily operations of the site caretaking and cleaning teams
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory health and safety regulations (fire safety, asbestos, legionella, gas safety, electrical testing)
  • Oversee site maintenance contracts, negotiating SLAs, and managing external contractors on refurbishments and capital projects
  • Manage the estate budget, tracking expenditure on repairs, utilities, cleaning supplies, and site machinery
  • Develop and execute a rolling preventive maintenance program for all academy buildings and grounds
  • Act as the primary keyholder for out-of-hours emergencies, security breaches, and external lettings events
