About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and detail-oriented Science Technician to join our dynamic team in Berkshire.
You will play a crucial role behind the scenes, ensuring that teachers and students have everything they need for engaging, safe, and hands-on practical lessons.
Key Responsibilities

Preparation of Materials: Set up apparatus, equipment, and chemical solutions safely and accurately for demonstrations and practical classes.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to health and safety guidelines, including COSHH regulations, risk assessments, and the proper disposal of hazardous waste.

Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, calibrate, and conduct routine repairs on laboratory equipment and instruments.

Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rooms, order chemical reagents and lab consumables, and perform routine audits.

Technical Support: Provide hands-on assistance to teaching staff and students during science experiments and demonstrations.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education: A qualification (NVQ, A-Level, BTEC, or Degree) in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related science discipline.

Experience: Previous experience working in a laboratory or school science department is preferred, though enthusiastic science graduates looking to start their career are strongly encouraged to apply.

Skills: Strong organizational skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Knowledge: Sound awareness of laboratory health and safety protocols (COSHH).
