An Outstanding primary school in Bracknell is seeking a caring and proactive Attendance & Welfare Officer to join its pastoral support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils, families and staff to promote excellent attendance, improve pupil wellbeing and ensure every child is given the best possible start to their education. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the school's support team, helping to create a positive, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

The Role

As Attendance & Welfare Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting both attendance and pupil welfare across the school. Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring daily attendance and following up on pupil absences
  • Working closely with families to improve attendance and punctuality
  • Supporting pupils experiencing barriers to learning or regular attendance
  • Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS
  • Liaising with external agencies and professionals where appropriate
  • Assisting with safeguarding, welfare and pastoral support when required
  • Producing attendance reports and identifying trends for senior leaders
