A welcoming Primary School in Bournemouth is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Science Technician to support the delivery of engaging and practical science lessons on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical science and wants to inspire young learners through hands-on experiences.
Working closely with class teachers and subject leaders, you will ensure that practical investigations are prepared efficiently, resources are readily available and equipment is maintained to the highest standard. You will be responsible for preparing materials and equipment for practical activities across the school, ensuring that classrooms have everything required before lessons begin. You will organise science resources, monitor stock levels, order new equipment and ensure all materials are stored safely and appropriately.
The role includes maintaining science equipment, carrying out routine safety checks, supporting teachers during practical investigations where required and ensuring all activities comply with current health and safety guidance. You will also assist with STEM events, science weeks, enrichment activities and whole-school projects that encourage curiosity and scientific enquiry.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, you will help develop exciting learning experiences that allow pupils to investigate, question and explore scientific concepts in a safe and engaging environment. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, good practical knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting children's learning.
