Are you a reflective, academically curious Early Career Teacher with a strong interest in human behaviour, cognition, and mental processes? A successful secondary school and sixth form in Bournemouth is looking for a committed ECT in Psychology to join their well-established Social Sciences department from September.

The Role

As an ECT specialising in Psychology, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons at KS4 and KS5, helping students develop analytical thinking, research skills, and a deeper understanding of psychological theories. Your responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Psychology lessons
  • Supporting students with extended writing and exam technique
  • Using assessment data to identify areas for improvement
  • Contributing to departmental schemes of work and assessments
  • Leading or assisting with Psychology enrichment (discussion groups, guest speakers, projects)
  • Supporting Year 12 and Year 13 learners with exam preparation
  • Actively participating in the ECT programme and subject mentoring
  • Building strong professional relationships with students
