Are you an experienced Year 4 Teacher ready to take a leading classroom role in a prestigious Independent School in Birmingham starting January 2026? This Independent School seeks a Year 4 Teacher who will combine excellent classroom practice with a willingness to contribute to whole-school subject development.
The successful Year 4 Teacher will be invited to planning before January 2026, will attend induction in January 2026 and will teach from January 2026 as the Year 4 Teacher.
A day in the life of the Year 4 Teacher:
- Mornings: the Year 4 Teacher delivers sequenced mathematics and English lessons that build fluency and reasoning, encouraging pupils to apply skills independently.
- Afternoons: the Year 4 Teacher leads enquiry topics, practical science and project-based learning that deepen knowledge and cultural capital.
- Evenings (planning / reflection time): the Year 4 Teacher will refine assessment records and prepare interventions.
The Year 4 Teacher will liaise with parents during scheduled review meetings and will lead an enrichment club to extend pupils’ learning beyond the classroom, all planned around the January 2026 start.
Year 4 Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan knowledge-rich units across the curriculum;
- Track pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies;
- Lead assessment and moderation activities;

Year 4 Teacher Requirements & progression:
We are seeking a Year 4 Teacher with QTS or equivalent, strong KS2 experience and a collaborative outlook. The Year 4 Teacher should be available for pre-term planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and a full-time start from January 2026.
