Spanish Teacher Role in a Multicultural Secondary School

About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire a love of languages and support excellent academic progress.
Students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through a broad curriculum that explores grammar, literature, and the culture and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. You will prepare learners for GCSE and A-Level examinations while encouraging them to become confident communicators with an appreciation of international perspectives.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department by supporting language clubs, cultural celebrations, educational visits, and exchange opportunities that bring language learning to life.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and well-structured language lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support language enrichment activities, trips, and cultural events
Foster confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for language learning

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge of the Spanish language and culture
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach a second language such as French
Experience organising language enrichment activities or international visits
A proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes
