We are seeking a patient, resilient, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in South Birmingham. This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful, hands-on support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive within a supportive educational environment. Your Day-to-Day Impact

  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement personalised support strategies tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.
  • Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or within the wider classroom environment.
  • You will help adapt learning activities to make them accessible and engaging, using structured routines, visual aids, and positive reinforcement.
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation, communication, and independence will be a core part of your role, alongside helping them develop positive relationships with peers.
  • You will also contribute to monitoring progress by recording observations and feeding back to teaching staff.
  • Maintaining consistency, patience, and encouragement will be key in supporting pupils to achieve both academic and personal milestones.
