The Role
- Act as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, visitors, and staff
- Provide a warm, friendly, and professional front-of-house service
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, emails, and enquiries
- Manage visitor sign-in procedures and safeguarding checks
- Maintain accurate pupil attendance, late arrivals, and signing in/out records
- Carry out general administrative duties including filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry
- Support school staff with correspondence, bookings, and diary management
- Assist with school trips, events, meetings, and wider office administration
- Provide first aid or pupil welfare support where required (training can be provided)
- Contribute positively to the smooth day-to-day running of the school office
The Ideal Candidate
- Has previous receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is professional, approachable, and calm in a busy environment
- Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Is confident using IT systems including Microsoft Office (school systems training provided)
- Enjoys working with children and families
- Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
