The Department & Academic Standard You will join a prestigious Social Sciences faculty where Economics is a premier subject, attracting high-attaining students with aspirations for careers in finance, law, and public policy. Core Responsibilities

• Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge Economics lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level), ensuring students can articulate complex theories with precision.
• Micro-Economic Mastery: Teaching the mechanics of the price engine, including supply and demand, elasticity, and the impact of government intervention in failing markets.
• Macro-Economic Insight: Guiding students through national and global economic indicators, including GDP growth, unemployment, and the intricacies of monetary and fiscal policy.
• Data Interpretation: Training students to analyse and evaluate complex datasets, preparing them for the rigorous quantitative requirements of the A-Level and undergraduate study.
• Global Contextualization: Integrating contemporary case studies—such as the impact of trade agreements, emerging market shifts, and the economics of climate change—into the daily curriculum.

The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority who can translate abstract economic laws into fascinating real-world insights. Requirements include:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong honours degree in Economics or a related discipline (e.g., PPE, Finance).
• Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering exceptional learning outcomes and a deep understanding of the AQA or Edexcel Economics specifications.
• Analytical Rigor: The ability to support students in mastering the mathematical and evaluative components of the exam, particularly high-mark essay construction.
