Data Manager Role
The school is seeking an experienced Data Manager to oversee the management of student information and school data systems.
The successful candidate will maintain accurate records, coordinate data collection, produce reports and support staff with data-related requirements.
You will be responsible for ensuring that information is entered correctly and that important reporting deadlines are met.
The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong IT skills and the ability to work confidently with large amounts of information.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the school's student information systems.

Maintain accurate pupil records.

Update student information promptly.

Coordinate assessment data collection.

Maintain attendance and progress information.

Produce reports for senior leaders.

Prepare attainment and progress reports.

Support teachers with data queries.

Analyse information to identify inconsistencies.

Check data for accuracy and completeness.

Produce spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.

Support school census and statutory returns.

Assist with examination and assessment data.

Maintain curriculum and timetable information where required.

Provide guidance to staff using school data systems.

Support reporting cycles throughout the academic year.

Maintain secure and confidential records.

Ensure GDPR and data-protection requirements are followed.

Prepare information for leadership meetings.

Support governors' reports where required.

Liaise with relevant system providers.

Resolve data discrepancies.

Maintain documentation relating to data processes.

Ensure internal and statutory deadlines are met.

Identify improvements to data systems.

Work closely with the examinations and administration teams.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have previous experience working with school data, databases, reporting systems or a similar information-management function.
You should be confident working with large datasets and have strong Excel skills.
Attention to detail is essential because the information managed by the Data Manager will be used to support school planning and decision-making.
You should also be able to communicate clearly with teachers and senior leaders and explain data processes in a straightforward manner.
