We’re currently working with an independent secondary school in Birmingham that is looking to appoint an experienced Data Manager to join its support team.
This is a key role within the school, working closely with senior leaders and teaching staff to ensure student information is accurate, up to date and available when required. You’ll have responsibility for the school’s data systems and will play an important part in assessment, reporting, examinations and wider school planning.
It would suit someone who already has experience managing data within a school and is looking for a role with genuine responsibility and variety.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for a range of data-related duties, including:

Managing and maintaining the school’s MIS

Keeping student records accurate and up to date

Coordinating assessment and reporting cycles

Producing reports and analysis for senior leaders

Managing data collection deadlines
-
Supporting examination and curriculum data
-
Assisting with timetabling and option information

Preparing statutory returns and census information
-
Responding to staff data queries and resolving issues

Checking data quality and maintaining accurate records

Reviewing and improving existing data processes

Supporting staff with the use of school systems

Ensuring all student information is handled securely and confidentially
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with school data, preferably within a secondary setting.
You’ll need strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and confidence working with an MIS such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or a similar system.
The ability to manage deadlines, work independently and communicate effectively with different members of staff is important. You’ll also need to be comfortable dealing with sensitive information and understand the importance of accuracy.
