A high-achieving and supportive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Biology Teacher to join its dynamic Science department. This full-time, permanent position involves delivering engaging Biology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to teach A-Level Biology for suitably qualified candidates.

The role is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners looking to inspire pupils in cellular biology, genetics, ecology, and human physiology. Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Teaching: Deliver inspiring theoretical and practical Biology lessons across KS3–KS4 (and KS5 where applicable), ensuring strict adherence to lab safety standards.

  • Student Outcomes: Track pupil attainment, conduct targeted intervention sessions, and prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Combined Science and Triple Science examinations.

  • Departmental Contribution: Collaborate on scheme-of-work development, maintain lab equipment alongside technician staff, and support science clubs or STEM initiatives.

  • Qualifications: Relevant degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline alongside QTS or PGCE.

  • Skills: Strong subject expertise, practical lab management, and a passion for fostering scientific curiosity in all pupils.
