The Role
A renowned Secondary School in Birmingham is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and exceptionally organised Attendance & Data Administrator to join their operational support team. This is a crucial data-driven role focusing on real-time student tracking, regulatory reporting, and maintaining a high standard of accuracy across the schoolβs digital databases.
The successful candidate will take operational responsibility for the daily monitoring and logging of morning and afternoon attendance registers. Key responsibilities include cross-referencing unexplained absences, executing first-day calling protocols with parents and guardians, processing medical exemption logs, and generating accurate statistical reports for the Senior Leadership Team and Education Welfare Officers. Additionally, you will support the wider administrative office by maintaining up-to-date student contact profiles, managing school data archives, and assisting with census reporting documentation.
You must possess excellent communication skills and an objective approach to resolving queries, as you will regularly liaise with families, academic staff, and external multi-agency networks. Strong administrative and organizational skills are a prerequisite to balancing fast-paced daily phone calls with rigorous electronic record-keeping.

Requirements
Previous experience working in an administrative capacity, ideally focusing on attendance tracking or database management within a school environment
Complete confidence utilizing school management software systems (such as Arbor, SIMS, or Bromcom)
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional approach to conducting difficult or sensitive parental calls
Good IT literacy, particularly across spreadsheet systems and digital communication tools
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot trends, anomalies, and errors within complex datasets
