Compliance Manager Role in a Primary School

A welcoming Primary School in Bicester is seeking to appoint an experienced and detail-focused Compliance Manager to oversee statutory compliance, risk management, and operational procedures across the school site. About the Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for monitoring and maintaining compliance across key areas including health and safety, premises management, safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, audits, and statutory inspections.

You will ensure policies and procedures remain up to date, coordinate compliance checks, maintain accurate records, and support staff in meeting regulatory requirements. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and external agencies.

You will also contribute to improving operational systems, supporting audits, reviewing procedures, and ensuring the school continues to meet the highest standards of compliance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee statutory compliance across the school

  • Maintain accurate compliance records, reports, and documentation

  • Coordinate health and safety checks, inspections, and audits

  • Support risk assessment processes and policy reviews

  • Monitor contractor compliance and certification

  • Ensure fire safety, premises, and safeguarding procedures are maintained

  • Support preparation for external inspections and regulatory visits

  • Provide guidance to staff on compliance requirements

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in compliance, health and safety, estates, or operational management

  • Strong knowledge of statutory requirements and regulatory procedures

  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills

  • Ability to manage audits, inspections, and compliance processes

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Desirable

  • Experience working within a school or education environment

  • Health and Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and education compliance requirements

  • Experience supporting policy development and risk management
