We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Bexleyheath, starting as soon as possible. The Role
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering lessons across all subjects, with a particular focus on core areas such as English, maths, and science. Promoting resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours will be central to your role. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
- Monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform teaching
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners
- Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers
- Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school improvement initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
- Be confident in assessment, curriculum delivery, and differentiation
- Possess excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Early Career Teachers are welcome and will receive mentoring and support.
