We are seeking a confident School Business Manager to join a community school in Bexley. The SBM will be integral to day-to-day operations and strategic planning, starting January 2026 (handover and planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026).
Responsibilities
- Operations & Finance
- Lead budget planning and financial control as the School Business Manager.
- Oversee payroll processes, pensions admin and HR records as the SBM.
- Manage contracts, lettings and supplier relationships as the School Business Manager.
- Ensure site safety, oversee maintenance programmes and manage caretaking staff as the School Business Manager.
- Maintain compliance documentation, conduct audits and support governor reporting as the SBM.
Skills & experience
- Essential: demonstrable experience as a School Business Manager or senior operations manager, strong financial literacy, MIS competence and excellent stakeholder management.
- Preferred: experience within schools, knowledge of school funding streams and capital project management.
The SBM must be available to begin handover work prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and commence duties from January 2026.
