This Year 3 Teacher post starts January 2026, with induction and planning sessions scheduled before January 2026 so the Year 3 Teacher can be ready for the spring term.

About the role

The Year 3 Teacher will plan daily lessons that develop cumulative knowledge, deliver guided-reading and problem-solving maths sessions, and use assessment to target teaching and accelerate progress. The Year 3 Teacher will collaborate with phase colleagues to moderate standards and share effective practice across Bedford.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver sequenced Year 3 lessons that build knowledge, fluency and reasoning.
  • Lead targeted small-group work and monitor the impact on Year 3 pupils’ progress.
  • Contribute to curriculum mapping, moderation and cross-curricular projects within the Bedford school.
  • Communicate progress to parents and participate in reporting and review cycles.
  • Support enrichment activities and wider school life to broaden pupils’ learning experiences.

Person specification

  • Qualified teacher with proven Year 3 or KS2 experience and evidence of positive impact.
