A welcoming primary school based in Bedford is recruiting a motivated Year 1 Teacher to join the team from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will deliver a structured phonics programme, plan progressive Year 1 lessons that develop early reading, writing and number, and lead small-group practice to secure rapid progress. This Year 1 Teacher post in Bedford commences January 2026, with induction and handover arranged before January 2026 so the Year 1 Teacher can begin the spring term fully prepared.

The Year 1 Teacher will follow clear medium-term plans, deliver targeted guided-reading and phonics sessions, and work closely with teaching assistants to scaffold learning for all pupils. This Year 1 Teacher will contribute to assessment cycles, moderate outcomes with colleagues and engage parents in supporting early learning.
