A popular primary school in Bedford is seeking an experienced Reception Teacher to lead Early Years practice from January 2026. The Reception Teacher will design play-rich provision that develops communication, early literacy and mathematical curiosity, use high-quality observation to plan next steps and lead effective transition into Year 1. This role will include induction and handover before January 2026 enabling the Reception Teacher to be ready for the spring term.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver play-based evidence-informed Reception curriculum that promotes language and early number.
- Use observation and assessment to set individual next steps and run targeted small-group sessions.
- Lead transition activities into Year 1 and maintain close communication with families in Bedford.
- Support and develop TAs, maintain learning journals and ensure the environment is safe and stimulating.
- Contribute to whole-school EYFS priorities and staff development.
