Are you a flexible KS1 Teacher who enjoys teaching across Year 1 and Year 2 and shaping strong early-phase practice? A warm, ambitious primary in Bedford is recruiting a KS1 Teacher to join the EYFS–KS1 phase from January 2026. The KS1 Teacher will teach across Key Stage 1 as required, design coherent, evidence-informed sequences, lead targeted interventions and support smooth transition between Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
This KS1 Teacher post in Bedford begins January 2026; induction and planning time will be provided prior to January 2026 so the KS1 Teacher can start the spring term confident and classroom-ready.
Role responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality KS1 lessons that develop phonics, reading and early mathematics.
- Lead small-group and one-to-one interventions, monitor impact and refine approaches to accelerate progress.
- Ensure continuity of learning between Reception and KS1 and support transition into Year 2 across Bedford.
- Work closely with TAs to scaffold learning, adapt resources and support inclusion.
- Contribute to moderation, curriculum development and whole-school improvement initiatives.
- Qualified teacher with solid KS1 experience and the flexibility to teach across Year 1 and Year 2.
- Strong pedagogical knowledge of early reading and mathematics and experience delivering interventions.
- Reflective, collaborative and committed to the Bedford school community; available to start January 2026.
