A well-established secondary school in Bedford is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the premises team from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for an experienced caretaker or maintenance professional who enjoys keeping buildings safe, secure, and running efficiently. The Role
Working closely with the Site Manager, you'll help maintain the school site to a high standard while ensuring health and safety remains a priority. Responsibilities include:
- Opening and closing the school site
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
- Undertaking routine health and safety inspections
- Maintaining the buildings, grounds, and outdoor areas
- Preparing rooms for school events and activities
- Assisting with deliveries and contractor access
- Reporting maintenance issues and supporting site compliance
