Our client is seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Science to join an Outstanding 11–18 mixed secondary school in Bath. The successful Head of Science will lead the Science department across KS3 & KS4, with oversight of KS5 provision. This is a full-time, permanent position starting April 2026. The Science department is exceptionally well resourced, forward-thinking, and staffed by a strong team of subject specialists across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Science or an outstanding Science teacher ready to take the next step into leadership within a school that places a strong emphasis on academic excellence and high expectations. School Information: This Outstanding and oversubscribed secondary school has an excellent reputation for academic achievement, behaviour, and pupil outcomes. The school promotes a culture of high standards, excellent behaviour for learning, and strong professional collaboration. We have worked closely with the school for a number of years and have placed several staff members, all of whom have spoken extremely positively about the leadership team, students, and working environment.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience teaching Science across KS3 & KS4 (KS5 essential)
- Experience leading or contributing to the leadership of a Science department
- A formal teaching qualification with QTS (e.g. PGCE)
- Strong subject knowledge and a clear vision for Science education
