A thriving secondary school in the Basingstoke area is looking to appoint a highly organised Examinations Officer to join its dedicated support staff on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating complex processes, maintaining high standards, and ensuring students have the best possible examination experience. You'll take ownership of the school's examinations function, working alongside staff across the school to ensure every assessment is delivered efficiently, securely, and in line with national regulations.
The Role
As the school's Examinations Officer, you'll be responsible for the smooth planning and delivery of all internal and external examinations throughout the academic year.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating examination entries, schedules, and seating plans
Managing examination days from preparation through to completion
Ensuring full compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements
Recruiting, organising, and supporting examination invigilators
Working closely with the SEND team to coordinate access arrangements
Managing confidential examination materials and candidate records
Processing results and supporting post-results enquiries

The Successful Candidate
Applications are welcomed from experienced Examinations Officers, Exams Administrators, School Office Managers, Education Administrators, or organised professionals with strong administrative experience.
The successful candidate will be methodical, approachable, and able to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple deadlines. Previous examinations experience would be beneficial, although training can be provided for the right individual.
