A successful secondary academy in Basildon is looking to appoint an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its English department. The school is seeking a practitioner who can inspire a love of reading, develop pupils' written communication and support strong outcomes at GCSE and post-16 level.
The Role
Teach English Language and Literature across KS3-KS5, according to experience.
Plan engaging lessons that develop analytical reading, creative writing and critical thinking.
Prepare examination classes through structured practice and targeted feedback.
Monitor attainment and adapt teaching to address gaps in understanding.
Contribute to curriculum planning and shared departmental resources.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
Can differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning needs.
Establishes positive classroom routines and maintains high expectations.
Works collaboratively to improve student progress.
