An established and successful secondary school in Barnet is looking to appoint a passionate, driven, and committed Teacher of Science to join their team on a permanent, part-time basis (up to 0.6 FTE) starting this September 2026. The Role

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, alongside A-Level Chemistry modules

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the UK curriculum

  • Supporting students of all abilities to develop their scientific potential to the full

  • Contributing to laboratory safety protocols and practical investigations

  • Working closely with colleagues within the faculty to maintain teaching standards

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in Science, with an in-depth knowledge of the UK Chemistry curriculum up to Key Stage 5

  • Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school setting up to GCSE level

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • The legal right to work in the UK

Salary & Hours

  • Salary: M1 – UPS3 (Outer London Pay Scale)

  • Hours: Part-time (Up to 0.6 FTE equivalent)
