A highly successful secondary school in Barnet is seeking an organised and committed Science Technician to join its expanding Science faculty from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong laboratory awareness and a passion for supporting engaging, practical science learning in a well-resourced department.
Science Technician required from January 2026 at a Barnet-based school with a strong academic reputation and excellent laboratory facilities. You will support Biology, Chemistry and Physics practical lessons across KS3–KS5. The role includes preparing solutions, assembling apparatus, maintaining stock, and ensuring full compliance with laboratory safety standards.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working in a laboratory or school science department preferred.
- Understanding of CLEAPSS guidance, COSHH and safe handling of chemicals (training can be provided).
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks during busy practical schedules.
- Confidence preparing equipment for demonstrations, required practicals and A-Level experiments.
- Willingness to support the wider Science team, including photocopying, resource prep and classroom support.
