We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Finchley, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing hands-on assistance in daily learning activities, play-based exploration, and the development of key social and academic skills. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality support to children in Nursery and Reception.

You will assist in planning and setting up activities, supporting individual or small groups of pupils, and helping to maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment. Role Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in delivering the EYFS curriculum through structured and play-based learning activities
  • Assist individual pupils or small groups to consolidate learning and develop independence
  • Observe and record children’s progress to inform planning and assessment
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and activities
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to plan and deliver lessons
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and, where appropriate, parents or carers
