CORE PURPOSE

We require an ambitious, industry-minded Business Teacher to deliver exceptional vocational and academic business instruction across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The role involves unpacking complex commercial concepts—including corporate finance, operational strategy, digital marketing, and enterprise law—and framing them through real-world case studies to build commercially sharp, exam-ready students.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS

  • Advanced Curriculum Delivery: Plan and facilitate highly structured lessons across GCSE Business, BTEC Enterprise, and A-Level Business pathways, driving students toward top-tier academic and technical marks.

  • Vocational Portfolio Management: Guide Key Stage 5 students through complex, multi-unit coursework assignments, ensuring strict compliance with exam board verification standards, tracking deadlines, and regular formative feedback.

  • Enterprise Collaboration: Orchestrate enterprise initiatives and pitch challenges, connecting students directly with local business owners and regional corporate mentors to embed real-world practice into the curriculum.

  • Data-Driven Progress Monitoring: Implement rigorous diagnostic assessment routines, using pupil tracking metrics to isolate conceptual gaps in areas like corporate accounting or supply chain management and deploy rapid interventions.

  • Form Tutoring & Pastoral Care: Manage a dedicated form group, directing daily morning registration, auditing attendance profiles, and delivering structured personal development and careers guidance units.

ENVIRONMENT & STRUCTURE

  • Specialized Studio School Framework: Operating within an innovative Studio School environment, our institution blends academic excellence with specialist business, technology, and project-based pathways, maintaining a highly mature, professional culture that prepares students aged 14–19 directly for the modern economy.

  • Behaviour Systems: The campus implements highly consistent, school-wide behaviour routines that maintain a quiet, respectful, and orderly atmosphere, ensuring classrooms and enterprise suites mirror professional working environments.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, or a related commercial discipline.

  • Syllabus Mastery: Deep, up-to-date knowledge of both traditional academic and vocational business specifications (such as BTEC Nationals or Cambridge Technicals), with a clear tracking process for coursework moderation.

  • Instructional Standards: A proven capacity or clear commitment to securing outstanding progress outcomes for all learners through explicit, engaging, and highly structured classroom instruction.

REGIONAL CONTEXT

  • Buckinghamshire Growth Zone: Based in Aylesbury, the school is situated within a thriving county town experiencing sustained residential and economic expansion, deeply connected to Buckinghamshire's vibrant small-to-medium enterprise (SME) economy.

  • Connectivity: The area boasts excellent transport links, offering smooth commuting options via major trunk roads (A41, A413) and direct rail services via Chiltern Railways running straight through to London Marylebone.
