An Outstanding Ofsted secondary school in Aylesbury is seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join their pastoral and administrative support team. This is an important role within the school, focused on promoting excellent attendance, supporting student wellbeing and ensuring accurate attendance procedures are maintained across the school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring daily attendance, recording absences accurately and following up with parents and carers regarding attendance concerns. You will analyse attendance data, identify patterns and work proactively with students, families and pastoral staff to improve attendance and punctuality.
You will also support the school’s safeguarding and pastoral systems by liaising with external agencies where appropriate and ensuring attendance records are compliant with school and statutory requirements. Producing reports, maintaining accurate records and supporting intervention strategies will form an important part of the role.
Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as you will regularly engage with students, parents and staff in a professional and supportive manner. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, resilient and committed to helping students access education successfully.
