An Outstanding secondary school in Leighton Buzzard is seeking an enthusiastic Attendance Officer to join its pastoral support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. As Attendance Officer, you'll work closely with students, parents and school leaders to encourage excellent attendance, identify barriers to learning and ensure every student is supported to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will become an important member of a welcoming and collaborative support team where professionalism, initiative and strong communication are highly valued.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality across all year groups
- Following up on absences with parents and carers
- Producing attendance reports and identifying trends for senior leaders
- Supporting attendance meetings and intervention strategies
- Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS
- Working alongside pastoral, safeguarding and SEND teams to support students
- Liaising with external agencies where additional support is required
